When in Rome/Day 1

Day 1:

RO: 9:30 AM avionul decoleaza. Emotii pana peste cap.

Dupa aceasta prima zi, am plecat spre hotel, am macat, am baut vin si am ras. Mult. Doar noi doi.

EN: 9:30 AM and the plane takes off. Emotions head over. We can not wait to get there. Weather outside was not very friendly, clouds and fog so we couldn’t see too much out the window. Stewardess walked past us, I got a cappuccino and a croissant. I was wondering how is the weather in Rome. O. took a coffee and then he connected the headphones to the iPhone. SIA-Cheap thrills song resounds loud  but I was hearing it getting slower. Stewardess asked us to keep our belts throughout  the all flight since there could be turbulences because of the weather. We complied enjoying coffee and cappuccino further. After an hour and 45 minutes the plane landed. We took the luggages and looked for a mean of transport for the route Rome-Ciampino-Termini. The road to Rome-The Eternal City seemed to be sunny with the sun high in the sky. Seems like it was waiting for us. After we arrived at the hotel around 12:00 AM, we left the luggages and I started to download the offline map to reach the nearest objectives near the hotel: The Collosseum and Roman Forum.

The problem with the internet abroad is the one that bothers me. Just when I catch a little wi-fi signal I am cheered up. On the way to the  Coliseum  we stopped at an Italian restaurant, I ordered pizza with prosciutto crudo and mozzarella  and two beers Peronni. I was sitting outside, soaking our sun, and the vibe that we both had was very cool. We ate very well in that chic little restaurant, then headed to what we came for-visiting. On the way to the Coliseum we stopped and we took baked peanuts and nuts. All around the street sellers postings on large metal trays baked nuts. I liked very much the romantic air and cheerful  holiday atmosphere in that city. I was impressed that about that feeling like everyone is on vacation. We crossed a bridge over the Tiber, and it got es  right in front of our first objective. Colosseum is a truly impressive construction. We saw hundreds of chinese tourists who were constantly with colored caps or with one umbrella as worthy  to not remove too much from the  guide or from the rest of the group. We climbed the steps of the Roman Forum, we walked, we laughed, and we ate gelatooo. Hmmm the best homemade ice cream is  vis-à-vis the Coliseum. My ice-cream was with strawberry flavor and O. bought himself with vanilla and strawberry flavor. After this first day, we went to the hotel to  drink  some wine and make plans for tomorrow morning. Only the two of us.

Love, Cris ❤
